SUP Has An Identity Crisis…And We Love It!

Stand up paddle boarding has an identity crisis. The sport is growing steadily every year and it can’t be boxed into one single category. Is stand up paddle boarding meant for surfing, racing, sprinting, whitewater running, freestyling, voyaging, downwinding, sunset cruising, yoga matting, workout platforming, fishing or duck hunting?

The answer is all of the above and more!

SUP has such a wide range of uses and appeal because it is new and undefined. So often societies work to categorize what something should be based on preconceived ideas. We believe stand up paddle boarding is flourishing because our community tends to have an open mind and welcomes all possibilities.

Whether you are young, old, elite or amateur we welcome stand up paddlers from all backgrounds. Our programs were created to benefit paddlers of all ages and skill levels.

Let us know how we can help you!

We don’t know exactly what the future holds for our sport but we know it will be a bright one. If you stand on a board, you ARE a stand up paddle athlete. While SUPAA is focused on stand up paddle racing for all skill levels, we look forward to promoting every aspect of the sport to help create a better future for stand up paddle athletes everywhere.

Happy Paddling!
